    Alne Hall is one of the services run by Leonard Cheshire who are the leading charity provider of services for disabled people with 140 services for over 10,000 people across the country.

"Alne Hall is a dual registered home providing support to younger people with a physical disability to enable them to live as independently as possible. A programme of replacing tradtional divans and hospital style beds with Volker beds started in 1999 with the specific aim of improving the lifestyle and care of the residents, and assisting those charged with their care. The functionality of the new beds, together with their conventional appearance have greatly added to the residents comfort whilst meeting the specific needs of their carers.

    For those residents whose disability does not prevent them from using the beds electronic controls, the beds have reinforced their independence by providing choice, dignity and fulfilment through the equipments empowering options. The appearance of the bed is such that it blends well with conventional bedroom furniture and does not suffer from an appearance often associated with beds designed for use in a nursing environment. It is believed that the beds construction has been specifically designed and manufactured to give above average maintenance free service.
